Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Breathing problems - pneumonia or lymphoma or post-surgical complications?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Thanks very much Sukie. The advice is very appreciated. I was worried about an incisional hernia and had asked the vet before he got very bad about that. The vet said his suters looked good but this was before I noticed the defect.

I'm sorry to hear your thoracic lymphoma kids only had a short while. That's heartbreaking. :(

I'm suspicious of it being lymphoma. I also had to make a quite a few nagging phone calls (and I HATE nagging) to get his prescription changed to a new antibiotic as the vet wanted to keep him on the Marbocyl. He is now on a cephalosporin. So I'm not sure how to convince to change again. Do you by any chance know what combinations are good? I've searched but have yielded nothing. I think part of the problem is I'm outside the U.S.A. so not getting very good results through search engines.

I have a gut feeling it's pneumonia, especially as this has come on so suddenly and just after surgery. I hadn't thought of the pleurisy complication though so thanks for that.

Again, appreciate it so very much!
Elizabeth
