Hilbert is showing signs of increased comfort, but we did
have a little scare yesterday when a clot from his bladder
blocked his distal urethra. Luckily, since it was pretty
much at the end and going in a bit I was able to remove
it with warm water and by gently running q-tips along
the outside of his shaft moving them toward the
opening (only that one direction since I did not want
it moving backwards) to try to partly dissolve it and
partly massage it out. The combination worked. Poor
little ferret. He goes back at the end of next week for
retesting to see how his kidney and pancreatic blood
tests' and urine tests' values are then.
