I think that could make sense BUT it is important to remember that
if such testing was not done BEFORE the implant went in then it will
not be possible to know if some change in amounts of circulating
hormones occurred. There could be something more serious than
hyperplasia going on, for example a carcinoma, and the amount
of circulating hormones may have been decreased but not decreased
sufficiently to see certain changes. Without having had the "before"
levels for comparison the results of the test after the implant --
if they show above average hormonal levels -- will NOT tell if what is
going on is that the implant did not work for some reason OR if the
growth is simply too serious a one for the implant to be totally sufficient.
I also saw someone else -- wish I could recall who offhand but my
mind is not connecting names right now -- who pointed out that in
humans it is possible for the body to become less responsive to the
class of drugs which includes Lupron and deslorlin so perhaps earlier
use of Lupron might create a scenario where deslorlin might be
less effective. That is also something such testing after the fact isn't
going to address.
