Folks are going to hate me for posting this...
There is no replacement for vet care. Your boy needs to go see an
experienced ferret vet. Yes, ferret vets are really expensive. There
is no way around this and I view it as part of the responsibility of
owning a pet.
I've gone into debt for my ferrets before. Sometimes that is just
what you have to do.
