Helicobacter can be tough to beat. It might require a couple regimens of antibiotic, and possibly several different ones to finally win the battle. Also, carafate (sucralfate) may help settle his stomach and enable him to eat. Our local grocery chain and many others, will fill an antibiotic scrip for free, and sucralfate isn't that expensive. I would try that before I gave up.
