Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Any suggestions on how to get a ferret back on kibble
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hi,

I would take the Ferretone and Ferretvite out of the duk soup and gradually make the kibble component coarser and coarser and the consistency of the soup thicker over time. Still leave out his regular kibble for him to munch on at will.

Too much Ferretone will cause loose stools and Ferretvite is very sweet so eliminate both these components altogether.

You are going to have to 'gradually' wean him off the duk soup and back onto the kibble, although some ferrets never do go back. Key is to make it a gradual process while making the duk soup less and less appealing (ie., no more yummy ferretone/ferretvite).

He should never go without food! Do not go cold turkey or starve him. Or he may end up with ulcers, amongst other things.
