Not sure I agree with that as a blanket statement. I have lots and lots of unspayed females, some of which are quite small, yes, but quite a few of which are larger than most of the altered males I see in my practice. I honestly think it has a lot to do with genetics, as the bigger females come from a few bloodlines. But you can't assume that a larger female is spayed, she may not be.
