[Part of previous post follows}
I am combing sites to look for symptoms similar to our 3 year old ferret. W=
e
came home after being gone for 5 days & found him very weak, although he co=
uld
stand, eat a little, but hind end weak. (He had been cared for daily while =
we
were gone). Took to emergency vet, glucose was OK, put on IV fluid, kept th=
ere
overnight. While there he took turn for worse, seizured. Now no longer stan=
ds.
Next day we took to a vet outside emergency hospital, no distinct diagnosis=

reached, ferret continued to seizure occasionally (arched back & pointed no=
se
up). Ferret lays on side but will eat and drink well when food (soft food) =
is
put in front of him. Since he cannot stand, we hold him to eat. We are one =
week
later, he still eats well but is still on his side. He seems to respond to =
us by
trying to raise head when we talk & pet him, & he no longer seizures.

[Look under posts that contain
stroke
in the body of the message from addresses containing
williams
and you will find the posts about ferrets not having
strokes.

You can also look for ones containing
Thrombosis or thromboses
in the body of the message since that is the
technical name for such thrown clots.

You can leave the subject line box empty for this
particular search set in
http://ferrethealth.org/archive/

You are probably looking on the FHL website
instead of in the separate archives. The
Yahoogroups search engine stinks and not all
past posts are there since this is our third address
in almost 10 years.
