Hello, yes there could be distemper germs on the 2nd hand dog supplies. Bleach
and water (I do 50/50) on the items will kill the distemper. I have heard that
bleach mixed with water has a "shelf" life of 2hrs, so keep the solution fresh.
I'd bleach all items (including car) twice. While letting the bleach solution
air dry on the stuff.
Distemper can also be carried in on your shoes/clothes.
