Two of my early alter females were started on lupron at around one year of age as a hopeful preventative. It is given year round. At four years of age neither has shown any signs of adrenal disease. I also have two late alter males that were started on lupron at around one to two years of age that, at just over three years of age, are also doing well (no signs of the disease), and another early alter male that was started at around one year of age that is also doing well at two years.

Considering that I've had many present at under two years of age, with the youngest being only five months, I would say this is a good sign. Only time will tell, but so far it's looking good.

I, personally, have little faith that giving lupron intermittently will be of any use, as there are too many variables. If you're going to give lupron as a possible preventative give it year round.
