But, she started with the sores on her skin which when I mentioned to my vet the last time I took my dogs in, she said those were a sign of the adrenal disease. Each one of my ferrets have had adrenal but the symptoms have all manifested themselves in different ways. This is the first time with the sores/tumors.

Can you please describe these sores, or perhaps provide a photo? I've had many adrenal ferrets and have never seen any type of skin lesions associated with the disease.

Melatonin alone will not effectively control the disease, though it may help with some of the symptoms. I've personally seen very good results with lupron and use it exclusively in all of my ferrets, for both treatment of the disease and possible prevention.
