Ok, so the ferret is on Prednisolone, not Prednisone. The concentration is 15mg/5mls, and we just upped the dosage from .30mls to .45mls. We have been giving our ferret medications 2x a day. He's been on the Prednisolone for less than a month now, and he has gotten bloodwork done. the first time his glucose level was 10 mg/Dl, and that was after being fasted for ~5hours. The second time we got bloodwork done, he wasn't fasted as long, maybe a couple of hours, and his glucose level was up a bit higher, although I don't have the exact numbers. We last checked his blood a couple weeks ago.
We are currently looking around for a vet is more well-versed than our current vet.
Our ferret is just over 3 years old, and he has been losing weight for awhile, but right now he's at 720grams. We've been giving him canned A/D about 4-5 times a day, which he loves, and he occasionally eats some of the kibble that we offer.
