You should be able to clearly rule insulinoma in/out. If your ferret does not have insulinoma, you might consider lymphoma as the cause for the neuro deficit. The paws curling under are a classic neurological symptom according to the vet neurologist who finally helped diagnose one of our ferrets with lymphoma of the spine. (I should say that this was not a simple diagnosis, requiring a variety of specialists and many, many weeks of ruling out a variety of other possibilities, particularly since blood work, x-rays, etc. remained within normal parameters until very late in the disease.) Steroid therapy did improve our ferret's condition somewhat, giving him back the ability to walk (though not particularly well), but as time elapsed, it became less and less effective.

In addition to lymphoma, injury and certain infections can cause similar neurological symptoms.

Good luck.
