Hi Jeff,=A0
Sorry to read that Pop is still having problems.=A0 The only way to definit=
ely know for sure what your dealing with, is an intestinal biopsy.=A0 I kno=
w, its a major surgery that brings with it all the risks of surgery... but =
it will give you that definite answer instead of guessing.=A0 It sounds lik=
e you've tried just about everything.=A0 I got to that point with my boy Gu=
s, who was the same as Pop, having bad poops/diarrhea for a few months, not=
hing worked... or like you said, give some antibiotics and it started to wo=
rk then didnt in the end.=A0 I totally did not want to do an exploratory su=
rgery, but I realized that I had tried everything else.=A0 I can only imagi=
ne how uncomfortable Gus was with constant diarrhea, it was time to find ou=
t for sure.=A0 And Gus was like Pop - always maintaining his weight, appeti=
te and activity level, but he was constantly eating.=A0

Anyways we did go ahead with the biopsy/exploratory and got a definitive di=
agnosis.=A0 Unfortunately it is intestinal lymphoma, but - the good part is=
, as soon as we got him on the proper chemo med, his poops returned to norm=
al.=A0 This all happened back in Oct 2008, and my boy is still doing great =
I'm beyond thrilled to say.=A0

What I'm trying to say is, that it comes to a point where you have tried ev=
erything non-invasive, and thats good, but you may be reaching a point wher=
e its getting dangerous to keep guessing at different things.

The only other suggestion I can think of, is that my vet knew that I was re=
ally hesitant to do the biopsy surgery, so he suggested an ultrasound first=
- meaning it might give him some more clues as to what could be going on.=
=A0 And it did, after the ultrasound, he was pretty sure we were dealing w/=
lymphoma, and that's when I went ahead and agreed to the surgery to find o=
ut for sure.=A0 Its too serious too mess around with.=A0

Good luck with your little guy.=A0 I understand your pain and frustration o=
f trying everything and nothing working.=A0 You just want to make him feel =
better.
