...or, as Sukie pointed out, it could be insulinoma.

Here is what I do when I have to give the dreaded flagyl: I draw some
Linatone or Ferretone into the syringe first and I give it next to
where the treats are kept. They still hate the stuff and froth at the
mouth but with the Linatone first and the promise of a treat they
don't go quite as nuts :) As you pointed out it is a medication that
can really work.

I hope you can pin down the cause and fine tune the treatment.
