Subject: [ferrethealth] What Is This a Symptom Of?
To: Ferret Health List <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>

My ferret crashed this morning, we thought it was insulinoma. Took him to t=
he emergency vet, turned out his bladder was full. Had it cathertized, and =
the bladder drained (blood sugar at that point, after Nutrical) was 100.
=A0
He is now=A0coming out of anesthesia and doing a lot of open mouth panting.=
He is taking some water, but it seems to be an automatic response (touch t=
he tip of his tongue with a drop of water, and he licks for more), so I don=
't know how completely he's out of the anesthesia.
=A0
Could the panting be a sign of something else? Could he ALSO be fighting in=
sulinoma? Any help would be appreciated, as the night vet at the animal ER =
doesn't do ferrets (which is why we brought him home instead of waiting for=
him to come out of=A0anesthesia at the vet's office)...
