Subject: [ferrethealth] Ear problems
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I recently purchased a sweet little girl ferret from a couple who was feeding her cat food and using cat litter for her litter box. I knew they were unfit condition for her, so took her off their hands immediately. Since I brought her home she has been unresponsive to sound, but semi responsive to vibration. I cleaned her ears, which were loaded with gunk and black stuff mixed with blood. Her hearing has not gotten any better. Also her teeth were yellow. Can anyone explain what has happened to her? Is it because of food? Could there be an infection? Or is she just plain deaf?

Thank you,
Tiffany Howe
