G'day,
=C2=A0
You might add erasers and the handle of some toothbrushes as well as the bu=
ttons of remote controls to the list of 'rubbery' substances! Ferrets=C2=A0=
can be=C2=A0truly amazing in ferreting them out.
=C2=A0
At the slightest suspicion (frequently justified)=C2=A0our ferrets gets som=
e paraffin oil - she takes it like a treat.

[Rubber, latex, and some types of cloth are very common
causes of potentially fatal GI blockages in ferrets. Other
materials certainly have been involved: chunks of very dry
dried fruit (like the crisp types of store-bought dried bananas),
pieces of hard uncooked veggies such as carrots, plastic,
plastic/latex gloves (some of which get hard in stomach acid
as happened with a member's ferret who chewed up home
hair permanent gloves), plastic packaging pellets, etc.=20
So, basically if you don't know an item is safe keep it away
from a ferret and NEVER give a ferret anything that can lose
pieces of latex (like squeaky toys), rubber (like some balls,
and so forth.
