You need prednisilone...or else your ferrets blood sugar will drop again...he will seizure...and if it goes to low he will die...I currently have a ferret just like yours...without the meds his blood glucose is unstable and will cause him to seizure throughout the day. You do not need a ferret knowledgeable vet to get prednisilone. If you go to any regular vet and tell them these symptoms and request pred you will get it. They can do a blood glucose test for 17 dollars and see where his sugar is at. He may be fine now but it won't last...as blood glucose changes on the hour....I would not wait....a vet visit should cost you less then 100 dollars to get a reading and some pred. If not, you risk seizure, coma, and death....

[First a blood glucose check to be sure it
is insulinoma is in order. There are a few
past posts from FHL members whose
ferrets actually had diabetes but were
given Pred without checking blood glucose
first and it was fatal in at least one and
damaging in at least one other.

There is quite a lot in the FHL Archives on
managing each of those illnesses, BTW.
Just link to the separate archives from the
home page of the FHL.

Cost for testing will vary.

Yes, a prompt response is in order to
prevent worse.
