Subject: [ferrethealth] Mornie: wondering
To: fhl <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>
We lost Mornie yesterday. Her carcinoma finally appears to have too
compromised her Cava.
When the large carcinoma produced her first adrenal symptoms we were
warned that could happen at any time. We tried a Suprelorin implant
and she got 8 good months and we have a Suprelorin due to arrive that
was planned for her.
The growth really took off a lot in the last month, especially the
last few weeks so we are wondering -- for the sale of others -- if
ferrets with carcinomae of the adrenal would be helped by perhaps
having another Suprelorin implant added at 6 to 7 months instead of
waiting for 8 months.
Both Mornie and Hilbert thrived on these implants. Both had a great
increase in activity. Both seemed much happier. Hilbert regrew fur.
Morney lasted 8 months despite the size of the carcinoma when it first
presented symptoms. Hilbert had a slowing of his insulinoma symptoms,
too (and there is a possible connection there through androgens).
We think it seemed to work better for them than Lupron and wish there
was a U.S. distributor.
