Subject: [ferrethealth] Incision Bleed Help
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hello. I picked up my ferret from the vet 2 hours ago. Their office is now closed. She had a fluid filled cyst removed from her throat along with some skin around it this afternoon. (The cyst kept returning so the skin removed would help eliminate reoccurrence) I noticed she has a tiny amount of blood coming out of the incision. Nothing dripping but enough where I blot it and little red spots appear from 2 separate incision spots on the piece of toilet paper. She was eating her kibble and I wonder if the eating pushed blood out of the incision since it is on her throat? I have an emergency vet I have no problem taking her to but does this warrant the trip and stress on her? Again it is not dripping or coming out at a constant rate. A few spots on her blanket and every few minutes I am able to blot some of the red spots. Nothing even that seeps through the paper towel. Any advice appreciated. Obviously if this worsens we will be on our way to the ER.
