Jeff,
Try to get some carafate from the vet tomorrow. Most pharmacys carry the
liquid version. You can give it twice a day and it coats the mouth, throat
and stomach. When some of my ferrets had ECE they did the same thing and it
was probably because they have little ulcers in their mouth that burn with
even water. For tonight, I might try a little bit of Pepto if you have it
just to coat his mouth so he will try to take in some watered down baby food
or a/d. I wouldn't normally give it but in a pinch.until you get your hands
on some carafate.
