Subject: [ferrethealth] how can i tell if my ferret has been spayed/neutered
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

i have a male ferret 12 weeks old
he has the marshall 2 dots on his ears.

and yet i have noticed he holds on to his toy and scoots around a lot on the carpet.. is this normal?

i have not asked the vet and he has not mentioned anything of this nature. will see him again in 2weeks for the rabies shot.

[That is a normal play behavior.
In the wild one way to find which
burrows that had been made by
prairie dogs have been taken over
by Black Footed Ferrets is to look
for the ruts where stones have been
dragged away using just that same
behavior. I suspect it might be a
way to find out which rabbit burrows
in Europe have been taken over by
polecats, too. Like many play
behaviors it is a modification of
the ancestral wild behavior.
