Subject: [ferrethealth] Swollen Prepuce
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
I made a thread about this about a month ago, about how my 4 year old ferret 'Sly Bandit' has a cyst or something under his skin, making him look like he has a swollen penis.
I've gone to the vet, and we've poked it with a needle trying to get a biopsy, but the bump deflated and a water like - straw colour fluid oozed out.
Within 20 mins (the drive home) the bump started to come back.
I've done this three time, and the last time we lanced the bump (tried to go to the cyst, and cut it to dry it out.) but that didn't work either.
I now have photo's and i'm hoping you have some insight on what it is, I can get surgery for him, but it's 800.00 and i'm not sure I can afford it for something that may not even work.
I've only had Sly Bandit for about 3-4 months. I adopted him from someone who didn't have time fo him anymore.
Thanks
Karlee
[What about an apocrine cyst as a possibility?

If so then that is better than an apocrine tumor:
