Mike,
We are in Germany, where the implants are legal for ferrets. Our vet implants
about every 6 to 7 months. We tried to go 8 months, but saw the return of
adrenal issues. So we go every 6 months.
The implants are "supposed" to dissolve. I am hoping one of the vets will
address that question for you.
We are very pleased with the level of care our ferrets receive from our German
vet. She also is very interested and willing to hear what the American vets are
recommending or doing with the American-bred ferrets (which ours are).
