Hi Karen,

So was your vet implying that if you didn't use the cytoxin the tumor wouldn't have grown? Should I talk about this with the vet and maybe pull the cytoxin out of the treatment plan? Or either way whether given cytoxin or another chemo drug maybe it still could have grown? I'm surprised to read that your vet gave high dose of pred before starting the protocol when I spoke with Dr. Mayer he advises not to use pred even when treating insulomia since now the chemo drugs won't be as efficient due to the steroid administration. I wish I had known this theory/advice prior and I would of used the diaoxide to treat the insulomia. 7 years of owning and caring for ferrets and I'm still learning important information that I should of known before accepting treatment plans.

[ALWAYS ask the treating vet for clarification
in relation to such questions. They know the
individual best and know many things that
non-vets do not know.

Dr. Joerg Mayer is the creator of the protocol
and this poster does not mention a specific case
which is why it is okay to mention his name in
this post.
