Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: thinning tail.. What are my options?

My Abby (female) is 3 now. Last winter her tail hair started thinning and stayed thin all threw the season (not totally bald) Her personality never changed and no more fur was ever lost. I have a great vet and vet tech who looked at her and told me 2 years was pretty young for adrenal but not out of the question. I kept a close eye on her. In the spring her tail hair grew back full and so far this year she has not lost any hair. I've had ferrets for years now and have read lots of books but nothing beats taking your ferret into a ferret knowledgeable vet. It sounds like your lucky enough to have one of those in your area. Make an appointment and write down any questions you have for the vet ( that always helps me ). It's probably nothing but it will put your mind at ease. Troy,
