Thanks Andrea,
That's what I'm starting to wonder too. The vet says she suspects he has ly=
mphoma,(have mislaid his records but know he had exploratory when I first g=
ot him - not sure if there were pancreatic tumors) but Dewi seemed to get s=
table for a while on the pred. On the prednisolone he is now eating solid/d=
ry food after just a few days of the change from tabs, but although his leg=
s can move and he has feeling when feet are pinched and will pedal when he'=
s held up, he falls sideways at the rear when he has to move on his own.

I guess if it is lymphoma it can spread via just cells in the bloodstream e=
ither to the spinal cord or to the brain? He knows when he needs to defecat=
e - tries to move to where the papers are - sometimes he is able to defecat=
e without getting himself soiled,(found poop this am on the paper) but he d=
id get some feces on his legs later.

It bothers me, but he does not seem to mind except he dislikes the rinsing =
under the warm tap. I figured I'll give the prednisolone another four/five =
days, then if he's not improved or gets worse take him in for euthanasia. I=
remember from pharmacy school (many years ago) that steroids increase musc=
le mass, so makes me give the prednisolone a reasonable trial, but not to t=
he point where he gets uncomfortable or distressed.

He's not apparently in any pain - bright eyed and eating dry food at least =
for now. I'm not going to hang on too long, but I never get used to making =
the decision.
Meryl
