Mike:
When was the last BG test (not the one that may have been skewed from th=
e pred)? BG can change rapidly from insulinoma, lack of eating, or other i=
llnesses, including cancers of the pancreas or liver. I had a boy, Possum,=
who was always unsteady on his feet and had an occasional episode, but not=
quite as bad as you described. We believe that he had liver lymphoma all =
along that we kept in check for a while with prednisolone, which we started=
giving him because of low BG (generally round 55 =E2=80=93 60). In the en=
d, the best guess was that he probably did not have insulinoma, but did alw=
ays have some smoldering lymphoma of the liver and possibly other organs. =
The pred kept it in check for about 10 months, then he went down hill rapid=
ly at the end. He was probably around 5 years old, but being a rescue/fost=
er ferret, that=E2=80=99s just our best guess.=20
