It does sound like ulcers, whether from stress of being away from home, or =
else as a secondary problem to another illness.
Try adding pepcid to his regimen. I dissolve one 10-mg Pepcid AC tablet in=
4.0 ml of water and give 0.3 =E2=80=93 0.5 ml as needed, depending on body=
weight. Store in the fridge. The pepcid can reduce the stomach acid being=
produced by the ulcers, which may be the cause of the teeth grinding and m=
ay be adversely affecting his appetite. Build up of the stomach acid may al=
so cause mouth ulcers.
I=E2=80=99d also add Carafate (sucralfate) about an hour or so before meals=
. It will help patch over any ulcers and help them heal. Whatever isn=E2=
=80=99t needed will pass through his system. Usual dosage is around 0.4 ml=
, but check with your vet.
