I looked up complications of anaphylactic shock, but I think that infection has to be considered here as among the possibilities.

Complications include brain damage, kidney damage, obstructed airway, cardiogenic shock,arrhythmias, and heart attack. Pre-existing medical disorders of the respiratory system or multiple sclerosis (MS) can worsen due to the anaphylactic reaction.
Exercise after ingestion of a food allergen or use of beta-adrenergic medications can result in a more severe reaction.

One NON-vet written resource adds in a LOT of things like immune mediated hemolytic anemia and more BUT WHEN I CHECK THE REFERENCES THEY GIVE I FIND THAT NEITHER
ANAPHYLACTIC
nor
ANAPHYLAXIS
IS PRESENT IN THOSE RESOURCES, so it would pay for someone whose education is better suited to comment on those sorts of things.
