I think that could certainly be a possibility here for two reasons:
very swollen capillaries are more prone to injury
(something people who get polyps or bloody noses from
allergies will know about well) and also fluid loss from capillaries
during a severe allergic reaction can be strong enough for red
blood cells to be flooded across the membranes easily (though
that effect is usually seen as bloody GI flux). Either could cause
scabbing.
