Rob:

I have some suggestions after watching the video, but first some quest=
ions:

1) What are his poops like? If not black/tarry, then this is probably not =
an ulcer issue, at least not in the stomach. He could have an ulcer in his =
throat or mouth from excess stomach acid or repeated regurgitating. This w=
ould make eating painful.

2) What treatments is he getting for adrenal disease? If not adequate, the=
n it could be causing nausea.

3) What treatments has he gotten thus far for ulcers?=20

4) Are there any changes in his life over the last few months, such as new =
ferrets, that could be making him nervous?=20

5) What is in the soup that you feed? Sometimes ferrets develop food aller=
gies over time.

6) Have any of the vets discussed the possibility of IBD? This can be caus=
ed in any number of ways, including a tumor in the digestive tract or a tum=
or, such as an enlarged adrenal tumor, pressing against the digestive tract=
. A small amount of prednisolone daily might help, if this is the case. =

Suggestions:

1) Add a pro-biotic to his soup once daily. Forti-Flora is a powder that=
=E2=80=99s easily mixed in small amounts. Bene-Bac or acidophilus are othe=
r possibilities.

2) Give him pepcid either before a meal or mixed in with the soup. I disso=
lve one 10-mg Pepcid AC tablet in 4.0 ml of water and give 0.4 ml per servi=
ng. Store in the refrigerator.

3) Change his soup such that it=E2=80=99s 50% what you now serve and 50% H=
ills A/D. This is a prescription canned food that is easier to digest but =
still nutritional.=20

4) He could be dehydrated from all of the regurgitation. This would make t=
hings worse. Ferrets can dehydrate quickly. Make sure there=E2=80=99s pl=
enty of water in his soup, and try giving him smaller meals more frequently=
.=20

You can email me directly if you would like to discuss further. I am curre=
ntly dealing with a very sensitive stomach in one of my girls, and have bee=
n for a while, so most of what I=E2=80=99ve written is what I=E2=80=99ve le=
arned thru trial and error. I=E2=80=99ve also dealt with IBD several times=
, including twice with adrenal ferrets.=20
