Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: female ferret with "vaginitis"? update 1-1-11
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Sadly this morning I was awakened by Cinni wretching. I immediately called my vet who was on call, thank God! Her blood panel results showed she was in kidney failure. Her breath has been really bad and now we know why. After much discussion about her health issues we decided it was in her best interest, to let her go. We met her at the hospital and Cinni went very peacefully. She is the last girl I have/had. I did find out, after my vet researching this morning, that the A&D ointment has changed it formula so it is safe to use and no longer can be toxic. Also the Aloe plant is poisoness only if ingested, not the gel part or the outer part, but it is the white part inside in between the outer leave and inner gel that is toxic. She wanted to know for sure if any of this could have contributed to her symptoms and that was a NO. So please always check with your vet before treating an animal with anything! You can do more harm than good even if your intentions are meant
to help your animal.

Thank you everyone for your advice, help, information and support. What a wonderful bunch of people on this list and a super moderator!
