Subject: [ferrethealth] fasting ferrets and anesthesia
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I would NEVER fast a ferret for 6 hours.=C2=A0 I think 2 hours is too long,=
even for a glucose check.=C2=A0
=C2=A0
Ferrets need to eat about every two hours, 6 hours is just too long and if =
my ferret vet wanted longer than 2 I would find a new ferret vet.
=C2=A0
In my opinion it is just too dangerous for the ferret.

Is there any reason I may not be aware of that a vet would fast a ferret 6 =
(six) hours as prep to giving anesthesia to inject a Deslorelin implant?
