My two ferrets have had 5 Deslorelin implants between them, all without anesthesia, just a little ferretone to lick. None of the five occasions produced more than a slight flinch as the needle was withdrawn and that only on one occasion. There should be no reason for anesthesia apart from an extremely clumsy vet. Six hour fasting is ridiculous for a ferret.

Tony (not a vet), Sugar and Suki.
In memory of Sally and Sue.
