Subject: [ferrethealth] Emmy update
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Emmy has been diagnosed with ileus. Post surgery things did not get moving again. She has had a BM yesterday twice around 3pm...and we are hoping the call from the vet today says more is starting to pass through. If not anoither surgery is in order. I found very little on ileus and ferrets. If anyone has any experiences or helpful info please let me know. Thank you.
[Definition for those who love to learn:

Stomach motility has come up before in the FHL
and certainly esophageal motility has, but I don't
know if intestinal motility of this type has come up
though we had a ferret who had to have intestinal
surgery for a genetic problem that was causing
flaccidity of a local section but that was very long
ago.
Posts with
Ileus
in the message body come up in
http://ferrethealth.org/archive/
ten times. None of them appear to be from vets
so I will check for messages containing
motility or peristalsis
in the message body, leaving the rest blank.
Then 69 messages come up. I lack time to
check then but will give the ones I spot quickly that
are from vets and you can also do the same search
after seeing if any of these vet ones cover your need.
Some of these are 10 years old. I do NOT have time
to check to see which might apply for your needs.
Sorry.

A friend's infant son had this problem about 30 years
ago and I think there was an opiate given till
surgery can be done (needed in his case for a
malformation).
This would probably not be helpful:

Also coming up in searches but I don't have time
to check them. Be sure to grab the entire link without spaces
when a link is long or it will not work.
