Subject: [ferrethealth] Emmy stomach tube
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Sorry to post so much but if these posts help a future ferret one day I want the info out there.
Our vet put a tube down Emmy and sucked up a lot of the material from her stomach. We are bringing her home to encourage mobility as her IV bandages and head cone kept her immobile the last couple days while hospitalized (she kept removing her IV so the bandages and head cone were necessary in order to keep an IV in her).
If mobility increases motility we could save her. That is our hope and course of action tonight. We also will slowly introduce food with the food less sucked from her stomach. This may signal the GI to start working as well.
She is currently on Reglan still.
