Don=E2=80=99t re-start the Baytril... Your vet may very well want to try a =
different antibiotic, for the reasons Sukie listed. Also, ask your vet abo=
ut Triaminic to help relieve symptoms. Being in the desert, you might want=
to try a humidifier or vaporizor to see if it helps your ferret to breathe=
better.=20
With many types of flu going around at this time of year, it=E2=80=99s espe=
cially important to always wash your hands thoroughly before handling the f=
errets. You might be carrying something contagious, even if you are not si=
ck yourself.=20

[Always check with the treating vet before
trying any medical approach, whether classic,
or OTC (over the counter, partly because some
of those and some variants of others will poison
ferrets, for example ones with ibuprofen,
acetaminophen, pseudoepinephren, or some
other things can NOT be given safely to ferrets ),
or herbal (again also to avoid accidental
poisoning). Remember, too, that OTC meds can
keep the same names with ingredient changes
so what is safe one year may not be safe the
next year.
