A friend gave me this great tip:
If you have a slow cooker, you can put a 1/2 inch of water in it for starte=
rs, then when you set it on med/high, fill it about 1/34 of the way- lid of=
f; the moisture will fill the area without the danger of mold or bacteria b=
eing spread by the mechanism itself.
