Subject: [ferrethealth] Jackson's Tumor
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Jackson has a soft tissue tumor. Its on his belly and surrounds his penis. He is still able to pee just fine. His temperament is happy and playful. He is 5-1/2 years of age, has a heart murmur and is on lasix for fluid build up. My vet feels very strongly that he would never make it through a surgery due to age and his heart. I tend to agree with her. She also feels that removing the tumor could require re-constructive surgery making him a "she". At this point, I have accepted that he is probably just happily living out his days. I have placed photos in the data base titled "Jacksons tumor" Is there anything that could shrink the tumor or even topical that could help protect the tissues from possible infection? My vet did take a sample and it is filled with fluid containing carcinoma cells. Any advice would be appreciated
