Thank you to all who have written to me with ideas and/or well wishes for=
Hunny. We saw the vet today and Hunny got a 500 mcg Lupron Depot shot, tw=
o months after she got her first shot. She does also have a melatonin impl=
ant.

Her blood glucose was tested and came back at 260, possibly high due to j=
ust starting prednisolone for the first time in her life. So, we are rulin=
g out insulinoma. However, the vet carefully checked three sets of lymph n=
odes, and all three are enlarged. Her neck nodes are only slightly enlarge=
d, but the pair near her front shoulders and more enlarged, and the pair ne=
ar her hind legs are very enlarged. The vet feels that, since all of these=
pairs are showing enlargement, that it=E2=80=99s probably not =E2=80=98jus=
t=E2=80=99 an infection, but more likely lymphoma. Given that Hunny starte=
d to respond after her second dose of prednisolone last night (1.0 mg each =
dose), I think this is our best premise to act upon. I did not want her to=
have a node removed for biopsy... I think her clinical signs and blood glu=
cose are enough to move forward with prednisolone treatment under the assum=
ption of lymphoma. Hunny is a 4-5 year old girl that I took from the Human=
e Society about 4 months ago because I could tell that she was not doing we=
ll at all, and she had been there for nearly 4 months at the time. She has=
been thru a lot of hardship in life and I would not want put her thru more=
than I have to. So she will continue with prednisolone, nutritious soup, =
and lots of love.=20

My question at this time is what would be the recommended daily dose of p=
rednisolone for trying to combat lymphoma? My vet=E2=80=99s suggestion was=
2.0 mg daily (she weighs 1.1 kg). So, I am planning on giving her 1.0 mg,=
twice daily with soup. Does anyone else have info or experience with dosi=
ng prednisolone for lymphoma?=20
