Hi Jeff,

Mayer (2007); Antinoff & Hahn (2004); Brown (1997); & Rosenthal (1994) recommend Prednisolone/prednisone at 1mg/kg, which is what your vet recommended.

I have used it with lymphoma in ferrets and with the exception of one foster who had extensive CNS metastases when he came into care; and one of my own with juvenile lymphoma, that came on suddenly and aggressively, I have had good results with pred.

It does not cure of course, nevertheless, it buys some quality time. Length of remission varies anywhere from several weeks to several months. But there is improved quality of life, that is, more energy, improved appetite and in general they feel better. In some cases, I have seen lymph nodes shrink back to normal size, in other cases, reduce in size.

Unfortunately, inevitably, and sadly, the disease rebounds with a vengence.
