Hi Amanda,

You are doing everything you should until you can get him in to see the vet. Keep the area clean and monitor it. Your vet will no doubt also put him on an oral antibiotic.

It certainly sounds like an infected anal gland. Are you certain that he is descented? Did you arrange to have him descented or was that already done when you got him?
