Subject: [ferrethealth] ferret with worsening paralysis
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Ok, so I had posted a while back about our 4 yr. oldferret with possible isulinoma. It turns out that he had insulinoma and adrenal issues, and had surgery a couple months ago to get the tumors taken out and to have one adrenal gland removed.
At first, he seemed to be a lot better-he was eating and pooping normally and acting normal. We had taken him off his meds and monitored his weight and glucose level. Within the last month, however, he has been regressing. He has been having hind limb weakness in his back limbs, and more recently in his front limbs as well. He hasn't been eating or drinking much on his own, so we've been hand-feeding and giving him water through a syringe, as well as fluids every now and then. We have checked his glucose level and it's been normal. He is currently back on meds-Prednisolone and Mirtazapine. We're just not sure what could be wrong with him now. Any thoughts?
Megan
