Subject: [ferrethealth] Probiotics given right after giving Antibiotics
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I have one ferret, Ellie, on Flagyl for Clostridium, and the other, Boris, is on Clavamox for elevated WBCs. I like giving them their soup immediately after, since they are so traumatized by these meds and they LOVE their soup. In Ellie's I am mixing Forti-flora per the vet, and boris gets Marshalls probiotic mixed in soup. Are the probiotics useless given immediately after the antibiotic? Do I need to space the antibiotic and probiotic out to make them most effective?? Thanks in advance.
