Subject: [ferrethealth] Essiac and Lassix (anyone have experience)
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I need to start my ferret on Essiac as soon as possible. It is a
natural diuretic, however I am not sure how much of one it is. He
needs to be on lassix right now and I need to know if they can be given
together. Has anyone here ever done so? Time is of the essence with
starting the essiac, so I really can not wait to stop the lassix. You
can reply here, but please also email me privately at
jadeblasio@aol.com so I can see the response more quickly. MY ferret
became sick, had heavy breathing, needing to rest whiile walking.
Cardiomyopathy was expected and ruled out via EGG (read by 2nd opinoin
of a cardiologist), and chest xray and ultra sound. Chest xray should
a lot of fliud in the lungs with one spot that had so much it was hard
to see clearly on ultrasound. Mass in lung expected, but cant be
confirmed. On baytril and lassix with recheck of lungs in 5days
(today) to check for improvment and compare, also to be 2nd for 2nd
opinion. Last 72hrs, the ferret made GREAT improvement, alsomost to
100%. Waling w/o resting, breathing almost totally better etc for
about 48hrs. Last night (9pm)started to breathe heavy again and need
to rest. He has been eating his food (gravy) without any problems and
taking his treats (vivify). Today he is limping on front leg, resting
while walking and breathing slightly elevated again.

Want to start essiac incase lymphoma, as I have had success for
pallative care with it before. My ferret Guille (pronounced Gee-Jay)
has turned 8yrs old as of this month.

Any info is appreciated,

Thank you so much,
Judy
