Thanks for all your help. TBH I'm a bit overwhelmed and don't know where to start. I only wish we had a sample kept from Daphne as she was only pts on Friday. As she was 8 years old and did not show any clinical signs of "ECE" in the summer, I really didn't think. She was operated on at our local vet rather than the ferret specialist so it wouldn't have occurred to them to ask. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
I will pass this info onto my vet and the coronavirus researcher at Glasgow Vet School who has been helping us.
My wee guy is on his last legs, I will speak with the vet tomorrow and see what samples we can gather once he makes his final journey.
