Thank you, Tressie and Troy Lynn, for replying.

She doesn't snore and I use hypoallergenic laundry products. I clean mostly with white vinegar and water and there haven't been any changes to her environment. She never got the hang of litter so she uses puppy pads instead. I've thought about hypothyroidism but don't know who would be willing to treat for it, especially since there isn't a reliable test for ferrets. I gave Benadryl two days in a row, which seemed to help, but now I believe it was only a coincidence.

I, too, am concerned about the opacity of the left lung. She had pneumonia in the winter of 2009/10. Most likely a complication of flu according to another vet. It was the left lung that looked bad then. It took Clavamox and then Baytril and Clavamox to knock it out. I was given an extra bottle of dry Clavamox just in case. I started it Wed night. She's been a bit more active, sounds better and has eaten a few pieces of kibble and is drinking a little bit from her water bottle at night. Nobody else has been sick but I know something could've been brought home and infected her. I will try to find Peaceful Mountain Nasal Rescue. I asked about a swab and culture but was told there was no reason for it. I didn't push since I wasn't being taken seriously about anything else. I think she's eating enough because she hasn't lost weight. I'm giving water with just a bit of turkey baby food in an attempt to keep her hydrated. I've tried mixing everything else I can think of with water
but she isn't interested. I've also been adding extra water to her soup.

The vet wouldn't change the original position taken - insisting she isn't active due to her weight. Before she started experiencing the symptoms I wrote about she was active for 2-3 hours in the morning, an hour in the afternoon, and 1-2 in the evening. The vet said she was spoiled and that's why she wouldn't eat anything but soup, that I should let her go hungry. I'm glad I know better. We've seen this vet before and I am still shocked by the things that were said.
