Hello Mike,
I truly ope when your vet diagnosed him with a giardia infection he also took a blood panel checking liver & kidney function

THIS IS CRITICAL for older ferrets.

The weight loss of a pound is not typical, maybe a few ounces but half the body weight, I think not.

The hair thinning that continues is almost assuredly adrenal related ( HORMONE HYPERACTIVITY) And since he is also a pancreatic cancer patient (insulinma) it is possible for both to be related, though not absolutely.

Have you tried daily melatonin in his care regimin? This may be helpful as advanced adrenal situations sometimes will need more assistance to counter. Here we use both a monthly lupron depot combined with melatonin implants on our seniors with very good results.

I encourage you to get more blood work run and get a base line which will assist you and your vet on the route of care for your senior feet Bandit.

Sending best wishes,

alicia at ferret wise www.ferretwise.org
